A recipient of Duke Law Merit Scholarship, Atty. Dimapilis completed his Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Business Law Certificate at Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina, USA. While at Duke, he focused on Securities Regulation Law, Derivatives, Mergers & Acquisitions, Structured Finance, Energy Law, National Security Law, and Law of Armed Conflict. He was a member of Environmental Law Society.

Atty. Dimapilis attended law school at San Beda University College of Law in Mendiola, Manila. He actively served as Vice-Chairperson of San Beda Centralized Bar Operations, and was a member of the San Beda Legal Aid Bureau. Prior to pursuing a career in law, he worked as a neuro-surgery and critical care nurse in a tertiary hospital for several years.
